Soyu was born in Seoul, Korea and spent her childhood in Evanston, IL. She completed her MS at Korea University under the guidance of prof. Jong Seung Kim. For her master degree work, she has mainly focused on synthesis and characterization of small molecule fluorescent probe for Aβ plaque imaging in Alzheimer's disease brain. She joined Mehta's lab at the 2024 fall. Her current research is ~~~. Outside of the lab, she likes to play tennis and do figure skating.
