Ph.D. Université de Montréal, Molecular Biology

B.Sc. McGill University, Microbiology & Immunology

Jordan was born and raised in Montréal, Quebéc, Canada. He completed his PhD at the University of Montréal under the co-direction of Drs. Étienne Gagnon and François Major. His doctoral work focused on understanding how cancer cells survive and eventually thrive under low-oxygen conditions. This work culminated in the establishment of new cell culture protocols, and the discovery of a new biomarker in ovarian cancer. Jordan joined UIUC at the beginning of 2024 as a post doc in the lab of Dr. Angad Mehta. His current research is centered on metabolic coupling of synthetic endosymbiotic systems and developing data analysis pipeline for large scale sequencing data from directed evolution experiments and B cell sequencing projects. In his free time Jordan likes to work-out and long walks through the forest.
