B.Sc. Vidyasagar University, West Bengal, India
Bidhan was born and raised in India. Bidhan completed his Ph.D. in Marine Chemical Biology from University Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) under supervision of Prof. Changsheng Zhang. His Ph.D. research was focused to marine Streptomyces derived natural products. Bidhan joined UIUC, Prof. Angad P. Mehta Lab in October 2022. His current research focuses on engineering and evolving robust endosymbiosis between eukaryotes and cyanobacteria as well as engineering the endosymbiotic chimera for photosynthetic metabolic engineering. He is also working in a collaborative effort to obtain high resolution images of yeast/cyanobacteria chimeras. In his free time, Bidhan likes to spend time with family, observe night sky, shopping and listen podcast etc.
